Mary has a foundation in finance, a doctoral degree in organizational leadership, a master’s degree in counseling, and two decades of experience leading teams. With 25 years of experience working with non-profit organizations, small businesses, and global teams, she spent her career at the intersection of human behavior and business performance. Her passion for understanding what drives people—and what brings out their best—led her to focus on what makes high-performing virtual teams thrive.
She is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Financial Planning Services for Cummings Wealth Management Group in Charleston, South Carolina. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Practitioner, Certified Kingdom Advisor® and also teaches financial planning as an Adjunct Professor.
Whether she`s managing the firm's day-to-day operations, working on a financial plan, or teaching financial planning to students, she loves helping people make sense of complexity and chart a path forward. She`s energized by helping others ponder the possibility of greater potential and opportunity in order to fulfill what they were uniquely meant to do.
When not working, you can find Mary, who is a cancer survivor, giving back and mentoring others. She specializes in crisis counseling and adult education. Passionate about lifelong learning, she is always learning something new. In the last 10 years, she has completed her 200 RYT yoga teacher certification, is a certified nutritional counselor, is TEFL certified, and is a triathlete. She also serves on the missions committee at her local church.
